After a strong Day Show, the evening at HKA 15 delivered exactly what we hoped for, high-level matchups, serious tests, and a fight team that continues to rise to the occasion.
Three wins. One hard lesson. All against top opposition.
Fyn Williams
We knew this would be a tough fight, and it was. Fyn faced a sharp, talented opponent with a smart game plan. I felt we edged round one, they pulled it back in round two, and the third was razor close. In the final 20 seconds, their lad did just enough to smother Fyn’s work and tip the balance.
A fight that could have gone either way. No shame in that performance. Fyn is improving every time he steps in the ring, more mature, more composed, constantly levelling up. He’ll be back stronger.
Owen Croft vs Gabin Herricote
On paper, Owen Croft looked outgunned against French powerhouse Gabin Herricote.
In reality? We embrace challenges.
This was Owen’s first international contest, three hard, toe-to-toe rounds against a relentless opponent. By the final bell, Owen was the stronger man. Hand raised.
Without doubt his best performance to date. He’s turned a corner this year and showed exactly what he’s made of.
Jake Payne vs Chris Dyas – ICO Southern Area Title
Jake stepped into his first five-round contest against the experienced and dangerous Chris Dyas from Falcons Gym. The camp wasn’t perfect, but we took the fight anyway.
Five rounds. No backwards steps. Big shots landing on both sides. It swung back and forth all night. From the corner, I had it narrowly in our favour, and the judges agreed.
At the final bell, Jake Payne was crowned ICO Southern Area Champion.
First five-rounder. First belt. Huge moment.
Massive respect to Chris, a top-level performance from both men.
Callum vs Joshua Kingham (Rematch)
Their first meeting in Scotland was close. This time, both had full camps and proper preparation.
Three relentless rounds. No concessions. High-level exchanges throughout. In the closing moments, Callum sealed it with a savage jumping back kick and had his hand raised once again.
A Team That’s Building
Over the last six months, this fight team has truly bonded. They’re pushing each other, growing together, building a culture you can feel inside and outside the gym.
Combined with a hugely successful Day Show, it was a big weekend for HKA.
Grateful for the graft, the supporters, the families, and everyone behind the scenes who make this possible.
More to come. 👊
