Absolutely blown away by the maturity, attitude and level of professionalism from the team today on day one of grading weekend. ![]()

But honestly… I think I’m most proud of the students that unfortunately didn’t make the cut today.
Grading is hard.
Standing in front of everyone is hard.
Pushing through when your tired is hard.
But taking defeat sometimes… that’s even harder.
This is what moulds us though.
This is where growth happens.
This is what makes us stronger.
It’s not always about winning every single time. Sometimes it’s about learning from mistakes, understanding where we need to improve and coming back even stronger next time round. That’s real martial arts. That’s real life.
The overall level today was fantastic. Some maybe lacked in a few areas technically, but what they DID have was heart, work rate, effort and determination ten fold. And that means everything at HKA. We always hold a very high standard, especially with the juniors sitting senior gradings. We push them hard because we know what they’re capable of.
A few tears today.
A few moments where people nearly broke.
But I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them.
Huge congratulations to everyone that passed and also to the few students that managed to grade with an A
absolutely smashed it.
Genuinely super happy with everybody’s performances today and I can’t wait to see everyone wearing their new belts next week.
Massive thank you to all the staff as always for another amazing kickboxing grading weekend.
