The team delivered an unforgettable day of action, showcasing skill, determination, and heart across a series of exciting bouts.
The event kicked off with Eli Welch, who put on a composed and clinical performance. Listening carefully to his corner, Eli executed a smart, simple game plan, front kick, jab-cross, and knee, culminating in a perfectly timed front kick knockdown. He sealed the win in style, even remarking afterwards, “that was fun.”
Dillon Welch followed with one of his strongest performances to date. In a high-energy, non-stop fight, Dillon dominated all three rounds, scoring multiple knockdowns with powerful kicks. His relentless drive and constant improvement were clear to see, and securing his second victory.
Zavien Corbett then delivered a world-class display, controlling his opponent throughout. With sharp front kicks, strong pressure, and excellent ring control, he showed maturity beyond his experience, adding flair with spinning kicks late in the fight.
Next up was Ruby Edwards, competing in her first bout against a much taller opponent. After a challenging opening round adjusting to the range, Ruby showed incredible resilience. She closed the distance in round two and came back strong in round three, even landing a standout scissor front kick. Although the decision went against her, her performance was a huge achievement and a testament to her determination.
Emilie Winters also made her debut in the ring, facing a tough opponent. After a difficult first round under pressure, she adapted brilliantly. In round two, Emilie found her rhythm, landing a devastating leg kick that led to a standing count and ultimately forced a stoppage, earning her first win at HKA.
The final bout saw Eli Welch return for a second fight against a skilled opponent from TKO Elite. In a thrilling back-and-forth contest featuring jumping and spinning kicks, both fighters pushed each other to the limit. Eli scored two knockdowns and controlled the centre well, but the decision narrowly went the other way in what could have been anyone’s fight.
Overall, our fighters secured four wins and gained valuable experience from two closely contested bouts. Every fighter demonstrated discipline, growth, and fighting spirit, qualities that define HKA’s approach to training.
We are so proud of all the fighters, as always! We couldn’t ask for a better team!!
